ShareHi, this is a little F.A.Q section I have compiled but before you start reading I
would like to take this opportunity and first of all thank everyone for all the
positive feedback, all the comments on youtube, my facebook group and all the
emails I get , thank you guys from the bottom of my heart.
What are the tools you are using to create your digital art ?.
I’m using a graphic tablet and photoshop cs3 to create my digital art.
Do you paint traditionaly as well ?
Yes, I used to paint traditionaly a lot as a child and I still paint traditionaly every
now and then.
Where did you study painting ?
I’m mostly self taught, my dad was a painter and when I was a little kid I used to
watch him paint and i wanted to paint as good as him one day.
my dad taught me how to hold a brush and how to mix colors, unfortunately
he became very ill when I was very young and later died so he wasn’t able to teach
me more than the basic things so I had to learn most of the things on my own
but I guess the ability to paint is a heritage from my dad.
How long does it take you to finish a painting ?
That really depends on numerous things, obviously the more detail the longer
it would take. a very rough estimation would be anywhere between 5 hours to
more than 10 hours.
Which type of brushes are you using for your paintings ?
I mostly use the regular set of default brushes, the ones I use the most are
the round brush, the round brush with soft edges (mostly for creating gradient
transitions) and authentic looking brushes (mostly for textures).
Which canvas sizes are you using ?
The canvas sizes change from project to project depending on the needs of each specific project but as a general rule the bigger the canvas the better.
for example for my youtube videos I would sometimes use a resolution of
2048×1536, but sometimes I would even use much higher resolutions depending
on the project I’m working on and how it’s going to be printed, presented etc.
as for dpi I use 300dpi in most cases
How do you record your painting videos ?
I am just recording the entire painting process usind a screen recording program,
then I would speed up the entire process using a video editing program and I would
add music (usually I compose and play the music for my videos myself).
